At the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games held in Thailand, Team Philippines secured a total of 277 medals, comprising 50 golds, 73 silvers, and 154 bronzes. Notably, the women’s football team clinched their first-ever SEA Games gold, while the men’s team reached the semifinals for the first time. Additionally, both the men’s and women’s softball teams dominated their respective categories, reaffirming the country’s prowess in these sports.

On the collegiate front, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) continued its dominance by securing its ninth consecutive overall championship in the UAAP Season 88. This achievement underscores UST’s commitment to excellence across various sports disciplines. Meanwhile, Far Eastern University-Diliman’s boys’ basketball team reclaimed the UAAP crown, marking their 10th title in the division.
