In an effort to alleviate congestion and enhance parking availability in two of its busiest commercial districts, the Quezon City government has implemented new public parking regulations along Tomas Morato and Timog Avenues. The initiative, which began with a dry run on March 23, 2026, introduces a three-hour parking limit for both cars and motorcycles.
Under the new system, public parking slots remain free and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. However, to ensure compliance with the time limit, parking attendants from the Quezon City Transport and Traffic Management Department (TTMD) are issuing official parking tickets to monitor and enforce the duration of each vehicle’s stay.
The primary objective of this regulation is to ease traffic congestion and promote a higher turnover of parking spaces, thereby benefiting both motorists and local businesses. By limiting parking duration, the city aims to discourage long-term parking in these high-demand areas, making it more convenient for customers and visitors to find available spots.
Motorists are advised to adhere to the new parking rules to avoid potential penalties. The Quezon City government continues to seek feedback from the community to assess the effectiveness of these measures and make necessary adjustments to further improve urban mobility and accessibility.
